The Backsteps

The Backsteps are an up-and-coming Canadian band whose members have been active in their local music scenes since 2015. Coining the genre “Thrift Rock” The Backsteps combine music and energy meeting nostalgia with now. 

Established in 2020, The Backsteps are a powerhouse ensemble made up of the lead vocalist Seth Hunt, bassist Luke Garrison, guitarist Josh McEvoy, and drummer Devin Pierce. Their rise to prominence was marked by a sensational U.S. debut at the iconic Whisky a Go-Go in Hollywood CA in 2022, where they shared the stage with the legendary Misfits guitarist Doyle. In 2023, they hit the circuit running, as they were invited back to play at the Whisky A Go-Go. Fresh off a wildly successful west coast U.S. tour, their debut EP "Six to Midnight" was released with rave reviews.

Currently, The Backsteps are rocking through various venues around Canada, building anticipation for the release of their sophomore EP, "Used and Amused." Anchored by the success of the lead single "Peyote," The Backsteps’ music has captivated audiences and critics alike, garnering attention on prestigious playlists like Apple Music's "The New Rock," Mike Herrera's "Big Music Monday," BLACK Market’s “NEW PUNK FROM CANADA” and Matthew Meyer's "New Finds." Not to mention, blasting across the airwaves on K-Rock 105.7, CFRC FM, and 91X FM.
